Thin Air Labs’ Funding Catalyst Service Surpasses $100M in Non-Dilutive Funding Secured for Innovative Companies

News Release: Thin Air Labs announces $100M in non-dilutive funding secured for innovative companies in Canada, marking a major milestone for their Funding Catalyst service.

Calgary, Alberta, September 15, 2026 — Thin Air Labs announces a major milestone for its Funding Catalyst service, which has now helped innovative companies secure more than $100 million in non-dilutive funding across 300+ funded projects and 385+ companies served.

Funding Catalyst launched five years ago as a service designed to help de-risk Thin Air Labs’ own portfolio companies. Today, it has grown into a national consulting service supporting founders and ventures across Canada and across sectors.

Non-dilutive funding includes capital that does not typically require founders to give up ownership in their companies, including grants, tax credits such as SR&ED, wage subsidies, loans, government contributions, awards, challenges and other public funding programs.

“Reaching $100 million is an important milestone, but it’s really a story of impact, of what that funding enables companies to do..." - Dr. Ania Sergeenko, Managing Director, Thin Air Labs

“Reaching $100 million is an important milestone, but it’s really a story of impact, of what that funding enables companies to do,” says Dr. Ania Sergeenko, Managing Director at Thin Air Labs. “It helps founders advance and validate emerging technologies, add talent to their organizations, complete pilots, enter new markets and reach the next stage of growth.”

How Funding Catalyst Works

Funding Catalyst supports clients through the full funding lifecycle. The team includes experienced, trusted experts with backgrounds that include MBAs, PhDs and MAScs, bringing together business, technical and commercialization expertise.

The team helps founders build a capital strategy, become more funding-ready, identify and prioritize the right opportunities for their business growth, manage applications end to end and stay compliant after an award. They also support the development of industry and academic partnerships where required.

The service works across sectors including defence, life sciences, cleantech, energy, agriculture, advanced manufacturing, and other emerging industries.

Funding Catalyst works with programs including DIGITAL, Natural Resources Canada, CAAIN, Alberta Innovates, NRC IRAP, SR&ED, PrairiesCan, Emissions Reduction Alberta, and more than 1,000 additional funding programs.
