Funding Catalyst

Delivery Support Specialist

Thin Air Labs is a venture capital and consulting firm helping founders fuel their growth. Our Funding Catalyst team works with high-growth ventures to identify and secure non-dilutive capital, helping founders extend runway and accelerate growth without diluting their cap table. Since inception, the team has helped companies secure more than $85 million in non-dilutive funding.

We are looking for a highly organized and persuasive writer to join our Funding Catalyst team as a Delivery Support Specialist. This role is a strong fit for someone who is passionate about innovation and entrepreneurship, curious about how high-growth companies scale, and motivated by supporting meaningful real-world outcomes. You enjoy research, writing, and analysis, and are comfortable getting up to speed quickly on new concepts and translating complexity into clarity.

At Thin Air, we are:

  • Founder focused — supporting founders who create meaningful human impact
  • Infinitely curious — about our founders and the companies they’re building
  • Unlike minds — valuing differences in perspective and ways of thinking
  • Impact driven — striving to help bring ideas into reality and real-world impact

What you’ll do:

  • Conduct in-depth research into the non-dilutive funding landscape, including grants, tax credits, and loans, to assess fit, eligibility, and timing for portfolio companies
  • Support the development of funding strategies by identifying and prioritizing opportunities aligned with a venture’s stage, sector, roadmap, and business priorities
  • Draft and refine funding narratives and related written materials, translating technical, scientific, and business concepts into clear, concise, and persuasive submissions
  • Gather, organize, and maintain the information required to support strong applications, including business, product, market, technical, and impact data
  • Support the preparation of polished, high-quality submissions through proofreading, assembly, and final review
  • Maintain accurate and organized internal records across core team tools and platforms
  • Contribute to workflow improvements that enhance the quality, speed, and consistency of delivery

You would be described as:

  • A strong writer with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively
  • Curious and quick to learn, with the confidence to work across unfamiliar sectors, technologies, and business models
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities without losing momentum
  • Outcome focused, with sound judgment on when precision matters most and when to move work forward
  • Reliable and thorough, taking pride in producing polished work with minimal oversight

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in STEM, business, commercialization, or a related discipline preferred.
    • Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 1–2 years of related experience are also encouraged to apply
  • Available full-time for a hybrid work environment based in Calgary, Alberta
  • Legally able to work in Canada

Nice to have:

  • Experience writing reports, research summaries, technical documentation, grant materials, or other structured written content
  • Familiarity with non-dilutive funding programs (grants, tax credits, or similar)
  • Experience working with startups, founders, or early-stage companies
  • Exposure to startups, innovation, entrepreneurship, or commercialization environments
  • Experience using tools such as Airtable, Notion, Google Workspace, AI productivity tools, and project management platforms
